Special Session "QUALITY IN MULTIMEDIA SYSTEMS": The special session is focused on the research of quality aspects of broadcast and broadband multimedia services. Its scope is closely related to the COST Action IC 1003 QUALINET. It covers the area of QoE (Quality of Experience) for multimedia application. As the multimedia systems have developed rapidly over the recent years and their development still continues, there is a natural need for effective and accurate tools for measuring and controlling the quality and performance of such systems. Traditionally, the quality of a multimedia communication system is quantified in terms of QoS (Quality of Service), which is understood as a technical measure related to objective performance of a system under test. On the other hand, QoE considers mainly the acceptability and performance of a service as perceived subjectively by the user.

The 22nd International Conference Radioelektronika 2012 is organized by Czech and Slovak technical universities in order to create a discussion forum for researchers, academics, experts, and students from Central Europe who are interested in the latest development in the area of radio electronics and related disciplines. The official language of the conference is English. The event is organized into several branches. Each section contains prestigious invited papers from selected departments.
